Outlook Express

  • Viewing Email Attachments

If you are having trouble opening or viewing your email attachments, please follow the following steps:

Step 1:Turn your computer on and wait untill it reaches the desktop. Then open ‘Outlook Express'. You will be prompted to connect to the internet but you do not need to do so. Click on Cancel.

Step 2:Click on the ‘Tools’ menu, a drop down box will appear, just click on 'Options'.

Step 3:A new window will open as shown below. This is the 'General' section.

Step 4:At the top there is a tab that will say 'Security', click here, a new window will open similar to the one below.

Step 5:The first heading you will see is called 'Virus Protection', under this heading there is options for you to tick depending on your preferences. Please amke sure there is NO tick in 'Do not allow attachments to be saved or opened that could potentially be a virus'. To remove the tick, just click in the box where the tick is placed.

Step 6:Once you have completed these steps click 'Apply' and 'OK'. Close Outlook Express and then open it again and try to open your email attachments.
